Will taking Klonopin's help with my fear of Thunderstorms/Tornados?

I dont know why but i have this fear of thunderstorms because every time they call for one, there is a tornado warning. I live by myself in virginia and hear that our land has too many hills for a tornado to last any longer than a few seconds, but for some reason this drives me crazy. A lot of my friends love thunderstorms and this whole thing is so confusing. why am i so afraid of them, but my friends cannot wait for one to come around. I guess when i see the dark clouds i am afraid i am going to see a funnel. I do have a nervous condition and i guess that has something to do with it. Thats why i am going to request that my doctor put me on something for stressing out over these little storms. Its ruining my summer and it would really bring light to my situation if you could give me some advice. thanks :)
