I need advice on what exam board and modules to do for A-level maths?

I want to have another try at A-level maths after just getting a D at AS level, due to not putting the effort in. I've already sat AS level edexcel exams but I've noticed that OCR and AQA allow FP1 instead of C3 and C4. I'm probably going to be doing D1 and D2 as the applied modules. I did do M1 but got an E in it, although I blame the incredibly dull and confusing teacher I had for that module. If anyone can recommend the ideal textbooks as well, then I can just systematically work through them and sit the exams when ready.
