Diverticulitis Timetable?

Yesterday, I started on Bactrim for diverticulitis. I know that it's been only two days, but the lower left abdomen pain is still there, sometimes a little less, sometimes more. I wondered if anyone had any idea when there would be some improvement. I'm supposed to take it for 7 days, but shouldn't there be some, even a little, difference after two doses?
