I don't want to see a specific person's postings on Facebook. How do I change that setting?

I have a friend on facebook who posts useless stuff constantly and I would rather not have to look at it. When I was first sent his friend request, they had the option to "show in news feed" and I hit yes. I want to change that. How can I do that?
