Why is my canary acting like this? how can I make it sit on my finger without wanting to kill me?

everytime I put my hand in my canary's cage, it opens its mouth and spreads its wings....it looks like it's about to pounce on me and just glares. sometimes it even jumps at me, and it looks like it wants to eat me alive!
