Water Fairy.........................…

Have you ever watched the surface of a pool or pond and seen a disturbance on top of the water that dances around? Sometimes, you can only see the shadow of the ripples at the bottom of the pool. What causes this? We call them "Water Fairies". I would be interested to know what actually causes this phenomenon.
