How can I get a good picture on laptop with tv tuner when recording a tv program?

When recording on laptop with pinnacle tv tuner, the picture that is recorded plays fine for the first 10 minutes, but then starts to have lines that shoot through occasionally. Any thoughts on how to prevent this from happening?
