Anyone used gripe water? Did you like it? Why or why not?

I'm putting the recommended dosage in my daughter's bottles to help with her spit up. I just started using it about 3 days ago, and I think it helps. I tasted it, and it's horrible, but mixed in with her formula, she drinks it just fine. I am aware its herbal, and not FDA approved (I don't particularly care about that). But I'm wondering if anyone has used it with their babies, and how it worked. Also, are there any possible negative effects from it (actual ones, not just feared ones because of the no FDA deal). Any info you may provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)
